Oday Shakar, famed local fashion designer, showcased his new line this past weekend at the renowned Black Starr & Frost store in Newport Beach, during an intimate Brunch.  His designs have been seen on numerous celebrities from Sandra Bullock, Kyle Richards, Ke$ha, Camila Alves, Audrina Patridge, Kaley Cuoco, and many more.  He creates one-of-a-kind runway pieces and Gala wear at his Atelier showroom in Costa Mesa.  Neiman Marcus stores also carry his evening collections, as well as his Ready To Wear line.

Black Starr & Frost is the oldest jewelry firm in the United States, first opening in 1810.  They gained popularity for adorning royalty, celebrities, and being immortalized by Marilyn Monroe in her song "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend".  The Newport Beach store by the bay showcases stunning jewelry pieces, antiques, and crystal chandeliers at this warm, but posh location.

Ladies enjoyed an intimate Brunch while watching Oday's lovely frocks.  His foray into daywear was well received, although his strengths are definitely his evening wear.  The detailing of the sequin work and low backs on gowns are his trademarks, and are perfectly suited for the red carpet or a black tie affair.
