Donna Karan

Nordstroms at South Coast Plaza hosted a Donna Karan fashion show and luncheon last week, showing the latest line of one of my favorite American designers.  I've always been a fan of the line, as the pieces often have a timeless quality that can be worn for many seasons.  Donna Karan has been described as a designer that creates clothing to flatter a woman's shape, with clever draping and supple fabrics.  I love how packable and durable they are for travel, and will often have at least one or two Donna Karan pieces with me wherever I go.  It's stylish and classic, without looking forced or contrived.  The layering that was shown in the preFall 2012 line had a youthful energy to it, and couldn't we all use a bit more youthful in all our lives?
